The five-star La Manga Club resort has an added spring in its step after being singled out for praise and being honoured by Golf Digest magazine, the world’s biggest golf title, for the third successive year.

Regarded as a golfing Mecca by many players across the world, the iconic Murcia sports and leisure venue further enhanced its status as Spain’s flagship resort after being selected by the magazine to receive a coveted ‘Editors’ Choice Award for the Best Resorts in Continental Europe’.

Revealed in the latest issue of Golf Digest – which has more than 1.5 million subscribers in the US alone – the awards celebrate the elite golfing venues in the global golf industry, with the list compiled by a combination of the magazine’s group of international affiliate titles and around 1,200 golf-course raters.

Max Adler, editorial director for Golf Digest, said: “Each year with the Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards, we seek to identify for our readers ‘The Best Things in Golf,’ with an emphasis on lifestyle properties, products and services.”

Set in an exclusive corner of Murcia and three times the size of Monaco, La Manga Club has been attracting golfers in their tens of thousands for more than 45 years, with its extensive facilities including three 18-hole golf courses,, a nine-hole, par-47 academy course and first-class golf training centre.

The resort has been named as ‘Europe’s Best Golf Venue’ at the World Golf Awards for the last two years running  and is on target for further success over the coming months having been shortlisted for a host of top international accolades, including the title  of ‘Europe’s Leading Luxury Resort & Villas’ for the third year in a row at the World Travel Awards which will take place in Madeira in June.

Nick Montgomery, general manager at La Manga Club, said: “It’s always a thrill to be given any award, and to receive this recognition from one of the world’s most influential golf titles for the third year in a row.

“While some resorts are struggling, La Manga Club continues to go from strength to strength. With the variety of sports and leisure facilities that we have to offer, I believe there is no other golf venue like us anywhere in the world and we will continue to strive to deliver the best possible golfing experience to all our guests.”
