The sky truly is the limit when an organization has a team that is passionate about creating great service. This is because each team member plays a key role in how well the service will be perceived.
It is important to understand that every employee is a reflection of not only the organization, but also of each other. When we have a team that is committed to providing outstanding service, we then will begin
to build each other up through our mutual goals.
But what happens if we are surrounded with people that do not have the same passion and fervor that we may have for giving our customers exceptional service? What would occur if we worked at an organization that simply did not make customer service a high priority? More than likely we would have little support and encouragement in our desire to create exceptional service.
This is why it is important to hire the right people who enjoy serving people. When this occurs, we will then find ourselves surrounded with a supporting cast who will not only provide brilliant service, but also encourage us as well. In order to provide five-star service, we must first start by creating a team that is excited to serve.
The best service companies who consistently produce five-star service make training a top priority. Along with hiring the right people who enjoy serving others, these organizations realize the importance and
benefits of education.
For the most part, the majority of customer service training in America is taught in a one-shot deal. It may occur during the hiring process or during the first few days on the job. But if we are serious about producing outstanding service, consistent training must become a part of the organization. It is up to us to decide how much time should be devoted to this instruction. This will not only improve the service to the customer, but it will also reinforce our belief that five-service is a top priority.
